There and Back Again

Well, Jason and I finished up our Agatha Christie mystery "Cat Among the Pigeons" on our last road trip and are getting ready to head off again for another road trip, this time armed with Agatha Christie's "The Mirror Crack'd". Neither of us read many mysteries, let alone murder mysteries, prior to our long road trips together, but we've found they're very fun to read aloud and to pass the hours musing about who dunnit! We've also started going through The Fellowship of the Ring, too - fun to see again how the book differs from the movies!

If you have a favorite mystery book suggestion, send it our way. Or if you have any other fun reading suggestions for long road trips, let us know!

This road trip we'll be headed to the International Linguistics Center in Dallas Texas, driving about 14 hours one way through Colorado and Texas. We're all looking forward to what we'll learn at the orality conference (OneStory seminar). We'll be there about a week and a half and already have some other meetings lined up to capitalize on our time at the SIL International headquarters down there.

Still plugging away getting ready for a Haiti/Dominican Republic survey, probably leaving in mid-September if all goes well. We'll keep you posted!

The Chronicles of Narnia & Ivanhoe would be two of my suggestions!

Happy trails! :)
