How fast plans change

So...we're amending our plans for May. Although Chile is still on the list of places to survey, it will need to be pushed back because our primary partners there are busy May-June, and we'll be busy July-August. Perhaps it'll be rescheduled in late August, but we'll see how it pans out. Although we were looking forward to Chile, we must admit that in some ways it's a really good thing. We, and everyone on our team, have a lot of things on their plate to finish from previous surveys and it will be good to get those mostly done before moving on to the next thing. We're all in hunker-down report writing or researching stage. Most of us writing reports, but Jason is continuing on with the Chile background research so we can go in August if possible.

A couple other updates:
  • Molly, our foster dog, got adopted on Easter morning. They seem like a great family and from the phone call yesterday it sounds like she's settling in well. It's fun to be a part of saving, taking care of, and placing labs!
  • Liz's thyroid is still over-extending itself on her behalf so we're looking for next steps on how to take care of it in upcoming months/years. The meeting with the endocrinologist will hopefully shed some light on the situation
A recent quote from a book I'm reading that you might enjoy:
"Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves...Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer." - Rilke
