We had a fantastic time in Tucson this weekend - the deaf church we worked with were so welcoming and gracious and Albert, our friend and contact on site, was a huge help in getting it all set up too! Thanks to everyone there. We did a quick analysis of the data to make sure we could leave :), and the results turned out pretty well. Data is usually messy and rarely perfect, especially when you are doing things like rapid appraisal survey but we are looking forward to playing with data to see what we can see and hopefully have a good understanding of the level of ASL comprehension in countries we've visited and those we'll be headed to. We also got to get in a couple quick hikes - what a beautiful area!
Arnie, our foster dog, is back with us. We're really hoping he gets adopted soon as while we were gone for 3 days, he landed in 2 different houses (due to a family emergency of the first dog-sitter). He knew just what to do when we got home last night (as in went to his favorite portion of the yard to take care of business and then made a bee-line for the basement door) and this morning seems quite calm and happy. Unfortunately this isn't, as the rescue puts it, his "forever home" so I'm hoping his next transition will be a bit more permanent. Last weekend we took him to a dog-adopt event and we all agreed that he is a lab-boxer mix. That explains his muscular and sleek body, his docked tail, and his unquenchable desire to put his front paws in the air and sit on your lap. For my family who may be reading this or those who knew my family when Tigger was around - he reminds me so much of Tigger it's scary. Looks like a lab, acts like our family boxer. Makes it hard to say goodbye and is a flash through memory lane. Oh Tigger...what a sweet dog you were.

I still miss Tigger, especially when we run into brindle boxers on our hikes and park outings! He was a sweet dog and a bundle of happy energy! :)
Love and miss you guys!
