We arrived home safely yesterday morning. Although we were given an update that a plane had crashed at Denver International Airport earlier that morning, our landing was safe and smooth and we had huge grins on our faces (perhaps induced also by lack of sleep) as we anticipated snow! We are glad to be home!
Our flight got in a bit late but we were hoping to make it to the last church service at Flatirons at 11:55am - we made a mad dash to the bus stop, then found our car in the parking lot, then drove to church and were sad to see we would probably miss the music since we were about 10 minutes late. But God gave us a surprise blessing (and everyone else who was late too!) when we walked in and the service was to start in 40 seconds! (There's a 2 minute countdown at the front of the sanctuary). We enjoyed celebrating Christmas and singing songs about Jesus' birth in English after the weeks of Spanish lead-up :).
Buenos Aires was great - we are very encouraged to see what the Argentinian SL translation team has done in the last year or so - they are working hard and passionate about it, deaf and hearing are working together in peace and utilizing their unique personal talents to the benefit of the team, and we enjoyed seeing some of their work in process - preliminary drafts of Peter's denial of Christ, the filming and editing process, and videos of previous translation work. We worked long hours on Thursday and Saturday with the team and it was well worth the trip.
We are so thankful for this time in life, for what God is teaching us as we work for and with His kingdom. And we're thankful that God equips those He's called and calls those who are powerless - what a great God to love us so!
Merry Christmas!

Welcome back! Getting to the church on time was cool and a special gift. Good to hear how the translation team is making progress with specific passages. Praise to God for all! Love, Mom
